Midtown International Theatre Festival
Symposium & Christmas Party
(including free wine and cheese)
Monday, December 16, 2013 at 6:30pm
Dear Friends in the Theatre:
Those of you who attended last year's Midtown International Theatre Festival Symposium & Christmas Party, with its lavish spread of FREE wine and cheese (and visit from Santa Claus), have no doubt been holding their breaths till this year's celebration. Well, we've outdone ourselves -- we're holding the event at that 99-seat jewel, the Barrow Group's TBG Theatre. It's just upstairs from the Abingdon in Midtown's Theatre Building and will be hosting the Commercial Division of the MITF.
In the spirit of Christmas cheer and generosity, we've expanded last year's
Theatre Stimulus Package (a unique set of freebies offered by no other New York theatre festival). This year's package includes the following:
• 20 hours FREE rehearsal time
• FREE external storage, availability permitting
• FREE 1-on-1marketing consultation w/ E-mail followup
• FREE showcase insurance
• NO side letter with Equity, so NO hidden costs
• Festival participants COMPED to each other's shows
• FREE wine and cheese (while supplies last LOL)
• 5 FREE production photos taken by our press agent
I and other members of the MITF staff will explain all aspects of producing in the MITF at the 5th annual MITF Symposium on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 6:30 pm at TBG Theatre, the Barrow Group, 312 W 36th St., third floor, NYC. Admission is FREE but reservations are requested (E-mail to midtownFestival@gmail.com). The Symposium, true to its name ("drinking together," in Greek), will end with a wine and cheese reception in the spacious theatre lobby.
The 15th season will run from July 14 - Aug. 10, 2014 (the last week is reserved for the Commercial Division) in the Theatre Building, at 312 W. 36th St. Application forms are available online at www.MidtownFestival.org (see the Festival Manual, "Application Process"). Applications must be completed online. Scripts must be sent by E-mail.
I hope to see you at the Symposium!
