SISTAS (2011)
, went on to a run at St. Luke's Theater.

SISTAS is the story of African-American women told through popular music, from “God Bless the Child” to
Destiny’s Child. As a family tries to piece themselves back together after a tragedy, music becomes the soul that
holds their bond of love, taking them from pain to pride to power, from “Oh, Happy Day,”  “I’m Gonna Make
you Love Me,” and “I Will Survive” to “Tyrone,” “I Am Not My Hair,” and “A Woman’s Worth.” From Bessie
Smith and Billie Holiday to Beyonce, and from Ma Rainey to Mary J. Blige. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll
want to get up in the aisles and dance! The New York Times says SISTAS is “sweet and sassy” and the
New York Beacon says it’s “a winner.” Produced by three-time Tony winner Hinton Battle,
SISTAS is playing Off-Broadway at St. Luke’s Theater on West 46th street.
